Thermowood is wood that has been subjected to thermal processing in high-insulation, massive ovens at temperatures ranging from 180°C to 220°C. During this process, steam is released into the oven to prevent the wood from cracking. This treatment reduces the moisture content within the wood to near zero and also allows for the release of chemical and harmful substances. Thermally treated wood is found to experience significantly less warping, cracking, and deformation, allowing it to last much longer in its applications.
